Full Job Description
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting business growth by developing sourcing strategies and supplier solutions for major bids, projects, and programmes across the organisation. Working within our procurement function, you'll help identify and engage capable suppliers, lead sourcing activities, manage commercial risk, and deliver value-driven solutions that support future contract wins and successful programme delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic business decisions while developing your procurement and supply chain expertise within a global organisation. Day-to-day, you will be:
- Developing sourcing and supply chain strategies that support new business opportunities and bid activity.
- Leading supplier selection, tendering, negotiations, and contract implementation activities.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to drive performance, value, and risk management.
- Conducting supplier due diligence and ensuring compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with procurement, commercial, engineering, and project teams to deliver effective supply chain solutions. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, based at the Babcock Technology Centre in Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available, with office attendance required as business needs dictate.
- Experience working within procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
- Experience developing sourcing strategies across a range of goods and services.
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement activities, including tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performance improvements.
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders to achieve commercial and operational objectives., Degree qualification or equivalent experience within procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
