We're looking for an experienced communications / marketing professional to be part of our brilliant External Affairs team!
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a creative and award-winning communications team in the heart of a vibrant and modern organisation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys big picture thinking, thrives on collaborative working and is skilled at implementing strategic communications campaigns that deliver measurable outcomes. You'll be adept at engaging key audiences through compelling storytelling and effective campaign management.
Companies House is going through its biggest changes since 1844, and you will play a key role in telling the story of who we are, what we do and why it matters, as well as effectively communicating our increased governmental role in disrupting economic crime. Working closely with the Stakeholder Engagement Team and Press Office, as well as the wider External Communications Team and colleagues across the organisation, you will help shape the story of our transformation as an organisation, and our evolving role within the UK government, to a range of audiences and stakeholders. This is particularly focussed on our reform programme under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency (ECCTA) Act (2023). You will help to develop our reputation management and economic crime communications campaigns, contributing to the strategic direction of both these campaigns. This is a varied role and ideal for a communications professional looking to strengthen their strategic
thinking, campaign implementation and collaboration capabilities.

You will be aligned to our Cardiff office, where you will be expected to attend on a regular basis. Please see the section 'Where will you be working?' for more information.
Please note - this campaign does not qualify for visa sponsorship., In this role you will:
+ Implement and deliver time-bound reputation management and economic crime focused campaigns that contribute to successful policy delivery and align with Companies House's strategic narrative.
+ Use the OASIS model and evidence-based approaches to refine existing communications strategies, applying insights from previous activities to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
+ Use your strong evaluation skills and experience to set SMART campaign objectives and KPIs, evaluate campaign success and inform strategic planning and future communications activities.
+ Lead on the development of campaign creative and social content, leveraging appropriate channels to maximise reach, monitoring performance against established KPIs, and proactively identifying opportunities to innovate and improve effectiveness.
+ Collaborate with colleagues across Companies House, other government departments and external organisations to ensure message consistency and identify storytelling opportunities.
+ Actively participate in cross-government communications working groups to build relationships with communications professionals, ensure our communications complement broader government messaging, share best practice and identify collaborative opportunities.
+ Contribute to the development and analysis of our stakeholder survey to gather valuable insights on stakeholder perceptions of Companies House, using this feedback to refine communications approaches and inform future campaign strategies.
+ Support the External Affairs team with crafting key updates around milestones, announcements and government policies for our stakeholder groups and audiences in a timely, engaging and relevant way.
+ Contribute to the weekly communications update email that is distributed to colleagues across Companies House and the Department of Business and Trade (DBT) on behalf of the External Communications team.
+ Lead the monthly project management call with external communications colleagues, maintaining accurate project tracking documentation across concurrent campaign activities.
About the team
Sitting within the award-winning external communication team, we're part of the Strategy, Policy and External Communications directorate. We are an extremely supportive and agile team, and a key function within Companies House. Our team translate business objectives into communications activity and behavioural outcomes. Our four main roles are:
+ Changing behaviour.
+ Contributing to operational effectiveness.
+ Managing reputation.
+ Explaining policies and programmes of work.
We build our campaigns and content around audience first. We turn multiple policies and services into a cohesive and clear story built around a consistent strategic narrative to help our customers, potential customers and stakeholders understand who we are and what we do. We build and manage relationships with key stakeholders in both the UK and internationally through regular roundtables, conferences and meetings. We make sure our messaging is consistent and aligned to our strategic goals, while looking for opportunities to gain support for our plans and future vision.
Over the next few years, we will totally transform every part of Companies House - from our status, role and remit to the services we provide. The work we do will play a large role in bringing customers and stakeholders along with us on this journey., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

+ Impact (Levels 1 & 2), + Successful candidates from the sift stage will be invited to attend a virtual interview, which will conducted using Microsoft Teams.
+ We use a blended interview technique, allowing us to find out more about you.
+ We use the Success Profile framework and at interview we will use Success Profiles assessing the Behaviours and Technical Skills listed in the advert, and Strengths.
+ There will be an activity which will be a presentation. Candidates will be asked to prepare this in advance and further information on the subject will be provided to candidates who are invited to interview. This will assess: Ideas (Levels 1 & 2) from the GCS Competency Framework.
+ A reserve list may be held for up to 12 months from which further appointments may be made for the same or similar roles.

Companies House cannot offer Visa sponsorship to candidates through this campaign. Companies House holds a Visa sponsorship licence, but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify. Security
Successful candidates must pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before they can be appointed.
BPSS is an entry level security check. It uses the Police National Computer (PNC) to make sure a candidate has no convictions. The check returns evidence of any current criminal record and un-spent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

£34,892 - £39,943
Successful candidates will be offered the minimum of the pay scale and in some circumstances salary negotiations will be dependent on the demonstration of skills and experience. All our roles come with an excellent benefits' package, including the generous Civil Service Pension Scheme. Further salary increases depend entirely upon the outcome of our annual pay negotiation with central government. If you are a current Civil Servant transferring to us, your salary will be discussed in line with our pay policies.

You will be aligned to our Cardiff office, where you will be expected to attend on a regular basis. We are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work which provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. The degree of choice you have will depend on your role and your day-to-day work activities. Your manager will agree regular patterns of attendance with you, however you may be required to make yourself available to attend the office more frequently when required to meet business needs.
