Full Job Description
This post sits at the heart of the Family Hubs partnership, providing cross partner leadership that ensures clear, consistent, accessible communications, which are aligned with local priorities.
Working closely with service leads, partner communications teams and the Digital & Communications Working Group, you will coordinate content and channels, apply strong governance principles (standards, approvals and review cycles), and reduce duplication, building sustainable capacity for long term strategic communications planning.
It is a highly collaborative, partnership facing role for someone who enjoys being out in the system, building relationships, bringing people together and influencing through trust and credibility, rather than formal authority. You will spend regular time with colleagues and partners in-person (including at hubs and partner sites), using face to face engagement to unblock issues, align messages and keep delivery moving., The duties and responsibilities of the post will include:
Strategic communications leadership and governance
Provide clear leadership for Family Hubs communications across partners, helping to set direction, priorities and standards Develop and maintain an overarching communications approach for the programme (including campaign planning, channel approach and content priorities) in collaboration with partners and embedded communications teams. Establish and embed content governance: agreed brand guidelines, standards, approval routes, review cycles and ownership for key public-facing information. Support the Digital & Communications Working Group to operate effectively, including preparing papers, facilitating actions and tracking delivery. Align Family Hubs communications with wider system priorities (e.g., Best Start in Life) and relevant organisational guidelines.
Content, websites and information quality Coordinate and improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of public-facing Family Hubs content across websites and channels. Work with partners to reduce duplication and fragmentation, and to support a clear "one-stop shop" experience for families and professionals. Write, edit, proofread and quality assure content (web pages, toolkits, key messages, briefings, FAQs) in plain language and in an accessible format. Support content reviews and audits, ensuring information remains current, accurate and aligned to agreed standards. Advise on accessibility and inclusion in digital content, including appropriate formats for different audiences.
Campaigns, engagement and stakeholder communications Plan and deliver communications and campaigns that support programme priorities, working with partner communications teams to coordinate roles and responsibilities. Use insight, feedback and (where available) data to tailor messaging for different audiences and to improve reach and engagement. Develop creative, cost-effective communications products (briefing notes, posters, social assets, email updates, presentations), using agreed brand guidelines. Support communications to professionals and partners, including updates on changes to services, pathways or key programme developments. Promote good two-way communications with communities, ensuring co-production and lived experience insight inform key messages where appropriate.
Monitoring, evaluation and reporting Define proportionate measures of success for communications activity (e.g., reach, engagement, feedback, completion of content reviews), providing insight to relevant analytics and reporting progress to relevant governance groups. Maintain a simple communications delivery plan/action log and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Identify risks and issues (e.g., inconsistent messaging, outdated content, reputational risk) and escalate appropriately, proposing mitigations.
Northpoint is an established regional provider of children, young people and adults mental health services. Our vision is a world that supports good mental health for all, and our purpose is to deliver effective mental health support and help strengthen the wider mental health system in Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next phase of communications as a growing partnership, building on our digital leadership support to the Calderdale Family Hubs programme, which was launched in 2023. You will bring focus, clarity and consistency to public facing information, helping partners work to shared standards, reduce duplication and create a more joined up experience for families and professionals.
As Calderdale Family Hubs expands services and channels, there is a real need for dedicated communications leadership that can coordinate activity day to day, while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. This post will provide strategic direction and hands on delivery support for content, campaigns, and digital information across the partnership.
