Full Job Description
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the stoma care nursing team, providing specialist care to patients undergoing life-changing stoma surgery. The successful candidate will join a small, friendly and dynamic team of nurses in delivering excellent standards of physical and psychological care. You will enjoy an interesting and varied role, have the opportunity for further education and personal development, and be supported to identify and work on an area of improvement., The post holder will participate in the delivery of a high-quality nursing service for patients with a stoma. This will include provision of direct patient care and education to both inpatients and outpatients, dealing with patient telephone enquiries, performing home visits to patients, and provision of stoma teaching to healthcare professionals.
You will be supported to develop your knowledge of the specialist care of patients with a bowel or bladder stoma or an enterocutaneous fistula. You will have opportunity to attend specialist training, work towards successful completion of learning objectives, and be supported to undertake a research/quality improvement project.
