Sterile Services Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. • 12 weeks training, the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 8am - 5pm, thereafter, training will continue during your regular shift hours which will be;
• Monday - Friday, 6pm - 2am (37.5 hrs per week)
What you will do
• Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
• Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
• Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
• Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
• Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
• Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust's appointed person.
  
  Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
