Full Job Description

Leading a high-volume coffee operation takes a wee bit of magic and a whole lot of resilience. If your idea of management is hiding behind a spreadsheet while the queue builds up, this is absolutely not the role for you. We are searching for a hands-on, energetic hospitality professional who loves orchestrating the floor, lifting the team, and making sure the coffee keeps flowing flawlessly.
At Village, we partner with Starbucks to pour world-class coffee, and we need a Team Leader who brings that famous brand expertise blended perfectly with our signature Village warmth. You will be the Manager's absolute right hand, turning big-picture commercial strategy into brilliant daily reality.
The Reality of the Role This is a deeply operational, sleeves-up position where you are the calm in the storm. One hour you might be coaching a new starter on the perfect milk micro-foam, and the next you are diving into Rota Horizon to manage the payroll, or smashing an internal QASA audit. You are the one steering the ship, setting the pace, and making sure targets are hit while keeping team morale incredibly high.
What We Need From You
The Natural Coach: You get a genuine kick out of seeing your team succeed. You know how to spot talent, benchmark performance, and build a culture where people actually want to work hard for you. No massive egos allowed, just brilliant, supportive leadership.
A Commercial Brain: You know your numbers inside out. Managing par levels, understanding wage percentages, and driving sales of high-margin items are second nature to you, and you do it without ever coming across as pushy.
Relentless Standards: You are absolutely obsessed with the details. From leading food safety compliance to pushing us up the local TripAdvisor rankings, you refuse to compromise on quality or hygiene.
The Coffee Champion: You have a real passion for the product. You will host tastings, share your knowledge, and champion local marketing events, getting the whole hotel excited about what we are pouring.
How Village Thrives We live our culture through three simple commitments:
We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine impact. You will drive the daily momentum, bringing an energy to the shift that inspires everyone to crush their KPIs.
We Will: No silos or turf wars. You will step up as a Duty Manager when needed and work brilliantly alongside the pub, reception, and leisure departments.
We Care: We look after our people. You will make training a massive priority, ensuring your team has the tools to succeed and a safe, supportive environment to work in.

The Perks: What is in it for you? You bring the drive, and we will make sure you are well looked after.
Pay: [Insert Hourly Rate/Salary]
Gym Membership: 2 x complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.
Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from £20 across our 34 hotels.
Food & Drink: 50% off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
Friends & Family: 2 friends or family members get 25% off F&B, even when you are not there.
Support: 24/7 Mental Health support via our Employee Assistance Programme.
Think you are ready to lead from the front? We are not looking for corporate robots. Bring your personality, your commercial sharpness, and your passion for brilliant service. Hit apply and let's see if we are a match.
About Company: "The historic walled city of Chester is a major tourist and business hub. The famous zoo is reason enough to visit the city, but the area has lots more to offer, including excellent shopping, fascinating history, stunning Tudor-style architecture and lively nightlife. To learn about the history of the city, take a walk along the city walls starting at the Eastgate Clock, visit the Cathedral or even the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain. For shopping, the city itself has everything you need, but for some thrilling designer discounts, head to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet just north of the city."
