Full Job Description

1. To provide and maintain a high standard of care based upon and reflecting the beliefs of nursing practice outlined in the unit philosophy for patients receiving renal replacement therapy and patients attending outpatient clinics or the unit for other treatments related to their renal failure.
2. To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a named group of patients who are receiving maintenance haemodialysis.
3. To act as co-ordinator of the clinical area on a daily basis, sometimes in the absence of a more senior member of staff on site.
4. To supervise and teach new staff, renal course students, renal care assistants and pre-registration students and to assist in the development of junior staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 nurse to join our nurse-led unit at Swindon Renal Unit. Our unit provides an Outpatient Service of haemodialysis, home dialysis, renal and transplant clinics for patients in Swindon and surrounding areas and is a satellite unit of the Oxford Kidney Unit.

Unit is closed Sundays, Christmas & New Years Day. The unit is open Monday to Saturday with no night shifts. Twilight shifts up to midnight Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
