Ward 3 is also the cohort ward for patients with tracheostomies that require hospitalisation.

Our respiratory team is now expanding our services with a newly developed Respiratory support unit and future specialist nurse roles.

The Respiratory support unit aims to meet the growing demand for high - acuity patients who require enhanced monitoring and support of patients with complex respiratory illness, or patients at risk of deterioration with acute respiratory disease.

The post holder will have chance to expand their learning further with Non invasive ventilation, (NIV ) Continuous Positive Airways Pressure (CPAP) and Nasal high Flow Oxygen therapy (NHFO) and respiratory failure teaching. Our work is intense and acute with specialist skills needed alongside sound general clinical skills.

We pride ourselves on maintaining extremely high standards of care, therfore the post holder must have passion, drive, flexibility and able to communicate effectively. Respiratory knowledge is desirable for this post, but not essential as full training may be given.

An experienced health care professional competent in all aspects of care planning, who is able to carry out a wide range of clinical skills, including area(s) of specialist clinical expertise and advice within the team e.g. infection control, by working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
