Full Job Description
OPUSS Ward is a short stay ward for the care of older people. We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and motivated registered nurse. As a Registered Nurse on the Elderly Care Ward, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care to older adults, many of whom present with complex medical, cognitive, and social needs. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote patient well-being, dignity and independence. This role requires a caring, kind and professional approach, excellent clinical skills and the ability to respond to the changing needs of patients in a busy and sometimes challenging environment. OPUSS Team is striving for excellence, under strong nurse leadership, we support and promote wellbeing within our Team and strive to develop new staff members to reach their full potential.Main duties of the job Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines, acting as a named nurse or key worker for a defined group of patients. Take responsibility for:
- Assessing care and health education needs
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans, including discharge planning Gain experience and develop skills in:
- Clinical practice
- Facilitation and teaching
- Management and leadership (as appropriate) Contribute to the delivery of the RUH Nursing Strategy, supporting its objectives through effective communication and participation in clinical supervision. Act as a mentor, preceptor, facilitator, and role model for less experienced staff, promoting learning and professional development within the team.
