Full Job Description

o To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centered care to the children, young people and families.o Ability to promote family centered care and establish good relationships with children, young people and their families.o To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.o To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence.

Fox ward are seeking an experienced, ambitious, driven nurse to join us in expanding our children's cancer services as we set out to create a new, world-leading Children's Cancer Centre.

Fox Ward is a 10 bedded ward in the Blood, Cells and Cancer directorate caring for blood disorders, immunodeficiencies and leukaemia's. We care for patients needing a Bone Marrow or Stem Cell transplant, Gene therapy or Thymus transplant. It is one of a select few paediatric treatment centres in the UK to offer CAR T-cell therapy among other specialist immunotherapy treatments.

Fox ward will allow you to gain specialist BMT skills and we will support you to build confidence in high dependence nursing. We can offer a number of development and educational opportunities.

We will value your previous experience and support you to develop your knowledge. We can offer speciality courses and various accredited modules to help you gain the relevant skills. We will ensure your development plan is tailored to your needs.
