Staff Nurse - Female Services

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse on Medlock Ward, you will provide high-quality, compassionate, and recovery-focused care to women experiencing acute mental health difficulties. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support service users through assessment, care planning, therapeutic engagement, risk management, and discharge planning, ensuring care is delivered in a safe, trauma-informed, and person-centred way.,

• Deliver effective nursing care to women admitted with acute mental health needs.
• Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to risk assessments and management plans.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans in partnership with service users, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Act as a named nurse and coordinate care throughout the service user's inpatient journey.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused ward environment.
• Administer medication safely and monitor its effectiveness in line with NMC standards and Trust policies.
• Facilitate therapeutic interventions, engagement activities, and one-to-one support sessions.
• Safeguard vulnerable adults and ensure all safeguarding concerns are promptly identified and escalated.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and community teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to incident reporting, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support and supervise support workers, students, and newly appointed staff where appropriate.
  
  You will have experience working with female service users and a genuine passion for women's mental health services. You will understand the unique challenges many women face, including trauma, safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse, self-harm, and complex emotional needs, and be committed to promoting dignity, empowerment, and recovery.
