Full Job Description
+ The endoscopy unit is a JAG accredited unit. We undertake diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (upper GI, lower GI and respiratory procedures).
+ There are a lot of training opportunities, including a comprehensive training package of which you will be supported by our own practice educator facilitator. A buddy/mentor will be allocated to you to support your training, assist you in completing your competencies.
+ The endoscopy unit is a fast passed area with 4 procedure rooms, you would be required to work in all areas of the unit- prep/procedure rooms/decontamination & recovery., + Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
+ Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical, social and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
+ Creates and utilises opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
+ Manage a group of patients throughout a shift as delegated by nurse in charge.
+ Working within the N.M.C Guidelines and Trust Policies recognising one's own abilities and limitation
Managerial
+ In the absence of senior colleagues manages the Ward/Department on occasions without direct supervision when competent to do so.
+ Use computerised systems to support the provision of patient care and treatment.
+ Work within Clinical Governance Standards and Trust Policies.
+ Ensure that concerns and complaints from patients, visitors or colleagues are resolved where possible and reported to the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
+ To be conversant with all Trust Emergency Procedures.
Comply with Trust Manual Handling Policy.
