Full Job Description
Join our friendly and dynamic Cardiac Catheter Laboratory team at Wexham Park Hospital as a Staff Nurse, with opportunities available for both experienced and newly qualified nurses. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist cardiology skills within a supportive environment that is committed to learning, teamwork and high-quality patient care.
Our service includes two cardiac catheter laboratories, a recovery area and a day ward, providing a wide range of interventional and non-interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary interventions, pacing and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. We also deliver a 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) service for patients with acute heart attacks.
As part of the Cath Lab team, you will work closely with colleagues across the Coronary Care Unit, Ward 4 Cardiology and the Cardiac Investigations Unit to provide seamless patient care. You will gain experience in caring for patients before, during and after procedures, while contributing to a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment.
We offer comprehensive support, mentorship and development opportunities to help you build confidence and progress your career in cardiology nursing.
You will be responsible for promoting a high standard of nursing care and multi-disciplinary working and will be expected to adopt a team approach to problem-solving, therefore good communication, organisational and leadership skills are essential. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and proactive qualified nurse with good interpersonal skills
You will have acquired post registration experience working in a Cardiac Catheter Lab with teaching and supervisory skills. We positively promote staff development with the support of the Practice Development team and there is opportunity to develop your skills and undertake further training.
