Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our expanding Cancer Day Unit. As we continue to develop and grow our services, we are increasing our nursing workforce to support the delivery of outstanding care to patients receiving SACT, supportive treatments, and specialist cancer care. You will develop the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for the safe administration of SACT, supported by experienced oncology nurses, structured competency programmes, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and wishes to develop a rewarding career within oncology and haemato-oncology nursing.

Working within the Cancer Day Unit, you will provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment and supportive care. You will:

· Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centred nursing care.

· Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with complex needs.

· Monitor patients throughout their treatment journey and recognise changes in clinical condition.

· Work closely with medical staff, pharmacists, specialist nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.

· Support patients and families through treatment with empathy, professionalism and excellent communication.

· Contribute to service improvement, education, audit and research activities.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which ourWeCarevalues and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

As a flexible employer, we want to support you to work in a way that is best for the NHS, our patients and you. Please do speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that's job share, part time or another flexible pattern. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are underrepresented within Barts Health at this band.
