SPS Medicines Advice Pharmacist

Join the Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) Medicines Advice team based in London to help deliver expert, evidence-based advice on the safe and effective use of medicines across England. Our national service supports healthcare professionals and policy makers to optimise medicines use and improve patient safety.,

• Provide clinical medicines advice to healthcare professionals in primary and community care.
• Research, critically appraise evidence, and deliver clear, timely responses.
• Contribute to national resources and support medicines optimisation initiatives.

  GPhC-registered pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to appraise evidence and produce high-quality written advice.
• IT literacy and willingness to learn digital tools., MPharm Master of Pharmacy
• Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or in progress), or equivalent clinical experience
• Pharmacist (Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council), Evidence of post registration commitment to continuing professional development such as postgraduate study, regular attendance at educational meetings
• Experience of working in a medicines information & advice service, Ability to critically appraise and analyse complex information in relation to medicines and to interpret and present coherently to healthcare professionals
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal format
• Ability to work under pressure, in a changing environment, to tight deadlines, including in difficult or demanding circumstances, Ability to organise a broad range of activities, formulating and adjusting plans to reflect changing circumstances
• Ability to motivate and influence the work of others, Experience delivering medicine advice to health care professionals, its current provision across England through SPS, and its role in supporting Medicines Optimisation
• Experience of undertaking project work
