Oxford Brookes University Sport are looking to recruit a 16 hours per week team member . You will be reliable, willing to learn and highly motivated team members to join the team and work as a Receptionist/Sports Assistant to provide excellent customer service, administrative and operations support for the business. There are vacancies to work at Headington sports centre.
You are the face of Brookes Sport so you will be responsible for ensuring a professional and friendly welcome, ensuring customers are provided with information regarding our services, memberships and promotional campaigns, whilst managing various email inboxes, answering phone calls and using our leisure management system.
This role is in a busy environment where you will need to prioritise, learn quickly and at times multitask. You will also provide administrative support as required for duties aligned with the front-of-house and Reception Services, supporting the Head Receptionist and Customer Services Manager in doing so.
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service experience, communication skills, be ready and willing to provide help and support to our students, staff and community users.
The successful candidate will be computer literate, with a working knowledge of Google email and its various applications, and ideally a familiarity with mobile Apps and online portals. There will be ongoing and personal development training provided in-house.
The role also involves hands-on responsibilities, requiring physical fitness to set up and take down sports equipment, as well as ensuring cleanliness both inside the sports centre and throughout the campus grounds.
Training and working hours of the post: The 16 hours required to work are Sunday morning, Monday morning and Tuesday evening however, initial training will be weekdays between 9.00 - 16.00 (exact hours to be discussed at the interview) before working on your own. There will be some flexibility required to work events and opening days which will be given to you at least 4 weeks in advance which you will be able to claim time off in lieu for.

Qualifications: Good standard of education to GCSE level, including grade C or above in Maths and English.
Experience required for post: Experience in administration and reception or a customer services environment.
