Full Job Description

As a School Games Organiser you'll be at the heart of creating exciting, inclusive opportunities that help young people thrive through sport and physical activity! Working with schools, communities, and the wider School Games Network, you'll champion the delivery of 60 active minutes, lead engaging competitions and events, develop young leaders, and create pathways that encourage lifelong participation. With a strong focus on supporting the least active young people, improving wellbeing, and breaking down barriers to participation, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of children and young people across the region.

You will have:

  • GCSE (Grades A-C) in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Further Education qualifications.
  • an understanding of relevant policies/code of practice and awareness of relevant legislation including safeguarding, health and safety and risk management within educational and community sport settings.
  • an ability to promote ways in which the school Games and competitive sport can contribute to school priorities and support aspirations and achievements of young people, demonstrating understanding of inclusion, engagement and behaviour change in physical activity.
  • knowledge of a range of sports, including rules, formats and inclusive adaptations for participation and competition.
  • knowledge of how the schools' competition structure works and progression through the levels, including School Games pathways, local competition structures and national framework.

City Academy Bristol is a vibrant, diverse and dynamic academy in the centre of Bristol. We provide an inclusive and accessible education, which transforms future opportunities for young people, their families and the community.
  • We are a well-positioned and well-connected academy with direct connection to the developments in Temple Quarter and key economic areas of east and central Bristol. Why work at CLF? We are a diverse and inclusive community of 36 academies across five cluster regions in the South West that is committed to excellence and making a positive impact. Our people bring unique perspectives, but we're all driven by a shared moral purpose and a passion for making a positive impact, whether in a teaching, leadership or support role. We're proud to foster a culture where everyone can thrive, feel valued, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of others. We are an equal opportunity employer and proud to serve a diverse student population and our communities. We strongly believe that representation matters. Over 73% of the students who attend City Academy Bristol are from global majority groups, so we particularly encourage applicants from those groups in order to represent the students we serve, as well as wider underrepresented groups including gender, transgender, age disability, sexual orientation or religion. We aim to remove any barriers to employment, ensuring everyone can compete on equal terms. Job share, part-time and flexible working opportunities will be considered.

  • Access to a generous pension through the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
  • Generous annual leave.
  • A comprehensive induction and ongoing commitment to wellbeing and career progression, through a range of training, apprenticeships and in-role/wider-trust development opportunities.
  • Well-being support through an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Health benefits, including wellness sessions, gym discounts, and flu jabs.
  • A range of generous family leave options, including above industry average occupational maternity pay.
  • Additional benefits like cycle to work scheme, on-site parking plus many more!
