Sports Coach / Teacher

Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality PE lessons across the full primary age range, following the school's curriculum and schemes of work;

• Teach a broad and balanced PE curriculum, including games, gymnastics, athletics and other physical activities;
• Assess and monitor pupils' progress in PE, maintaining accurate records and adapting provision to meet individual needs;
• Prepare, train and support pupils to participate in inter-school competitions and sports fixtures;
• Attend and lead school teams at competitions and fixtures, including occasional after-school commitments;
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive participation in all physical activities;
• Organise and deliver engaging lunchtime and extra-curricular sports activities that encourage high participation and enjoyment;
• Ensure safe management and organisation of equipment, spaces, and activities in line with health and safety requirements;
• Work closely with the PE Lead Teacher to develop and enhance the school's PE and sports provision;
• Support the identification and development of pupils with particular sporting talents, as well as encouraging inclusive participation for all;
• Manage and supervise classes, ensuring a safe, positive and inclusive environment during all activities;
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to support pupils' wider development;
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and whole-school initiatives;
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including sports days, enrichment events, and community activities;
• Uphold and promote the school's safeguarding, behaviour and equal opportunities policies at all times.
