Full Job Description

Are you a commercially driven leader with a passion for sport, events and customer experience? Do you thrive on developing new business opportunities, leading high-performing teams and creating exceptional experiences for customers? If so, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Sports & Facilities Business Manager to lead the growth and development of our sports, conferencing and events business across Leeds Trinity University's campuses. Our Horsforth campus offers over 600 en-suite bedrooms, outstanding teaching and meeting spaces, and excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Combined with our new City Centre campus, perfectly positioned for business engagement and events, you'll have the opportunity to maximise commercial income while supporting the University's wider strategic ambitions. Based primarily at our Horsforth campus, but working across both locations, you'll lead our sports facilities and conferencing teams, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer experiences while identifying and developing new commercial opportunities. Working closely with internal colleagues and external partners, you'll play a key role in growing our reputation as a destination for sport, conferences, events and community engagement.

  • Proven leadership and people management experience within sports facilities, conferencing, hospitality or events.
  • A strong commercial mindset, with experience of driving revenue growth, developing business cases and identifying investment opportunities.
  • Experience of budget management, pricing strategies and market positioning.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A professional qualification in Facilities Management, Business, Marketing or a related discipline would be advantageous.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys balancing operational management with commercial development. In return, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the future growth of our sports and conferencing business while working in a collaborative and supportive university environment.
  • The role is based on an average of 35 hours per week and will include regular evening and weekend working to support the operational needs of the service. This advert will close once we receive a suitable number of applications. Interviews are expected to take place late August/ early September 2026. If you have any queries about the application process, please email or call . Leeds Trinity University values diversity and inclusion and particularly encourages applications from the following groups as they are currently under-represented within the University: Women, LGBTQ+ and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic applicants, as well as candidates with disabilities, whether hidden or otherwise. The University will consider all forms of flexible working arrangements.
