Spinal Injury Support Worker Location: Canterbury Salary: £16.53 per hour weekdays, £17.36 per hour weekend days. Job Type: Zero-hour contract Shifts: 8am-8pm, 7 days per week Full time/part time hours available. Role Overview: We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Canterbury, working on a 2:1 ratio. Our client is a male in his late 50s with a Spinal Injury following a road traffic accident. He has a catheter and requires daily support with bowel management, cough assist and nebulisers, plus monitoring for signs of autonomic dysreflexia. To support his independence, were seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting
relationship, with previous Spinal Injury experience., The position of Spinal Injury Support Worker involves working in Canterbury with a client who has sustained a spinal injury. The work schedule is based on a zero-hour contract, with shifts available from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. This role suits those who are competent and compassionate, providing personal care such as assistance with washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management. In addition to preparing meals and administering medication, support workers offer emotional support and companionship, aid with mobility, and execute light housekeeping tasks. Previous experience with spinal cord injury and familiarity with catheter care and autonomic dysreflexia are required. A valid UK driving licence is necessary for this role, as it may involve driving during shifts.
