Speech & Language Therapist - Mainstream Schools

Our collaborative team delivers high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services across mainstream schools and colleges, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those receiving SEN Support and those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will manage a varied caseload of children with a range of speech, language and communication needs, includingDevelopmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech sound disorders and selective mutism. The role includes carrying out assessments, delivering individual and group interventions, providing advice and strategies to school staff and parents, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, and delivering training within your allocated schools. The post holder will act as a link Speech and Language Therapist to a number of Mainstream Schools within CLCH, jointly prioritising referrals with teachers and SENCOs.

• The post holder will assess the need for, develop and implement Speech and Language Therapy treatment to children and young people referred to mainstream schools with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
• Work together with parents/carers and school staff teachers/SENCOs.
• Deliver in-service training for school staff with support from a more experienced colleague where appropriate.
• The post holder will be accountable for their professional practice, work within their scope of practice, and seek guidance and support from senior colleagues when required.
