Specialty Doctor - Trauma & Orthopaedics Hand Service

The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHD are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Speciality Doctor in hand surgery and trauma working with Miss Higgins, Mr O'Connor, Mr Richards and Mr Southgate who specialise in Hand Surgery.

This is an exciting time to join as we are currently making great progress with a vision in creating a first class fully integrated Trauma and Orthopaedic Service within our Bournemouth and Poole Hospital sites as part of the new University Hospitals Dorset.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside our existing specialty doctors and registrars to provide care to inpatients including new admissions

Supervision and support of junior medical colleagues, Physicians Associates and Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Clinical Practitioners

Maintaining continued professional development

Attending ward multidisciplinary meetings

Attending and contributing to educational sessions and Clinical Governance meetings

Partaking in departmental Quality Improvement work

Participating in the hospital appraisal process as part of on-going professional development
