Specialty Doctor in Urology

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Specialty Doctor in Urology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible to and work under the supervision of Consultant Urologists. Within the hours contracted, the successful candidate is expected to be flexible in the exact hours worked each day.

The Urology department is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated people with the ability to work with the general surgery team to provide a comprehensive service across the department.

The successful candidate will be trained to perform core and specialist urological procedures, and your duties will ensure that you continue to gain appropriate clinical Urology experience including support in taking professional exams. We have a strong track record of supporting our colleagues to entry to the specialist register in Urology (CCT/CESR/Portfolio Pathway).

All Medical staff employed by the Trust are expected to comply with hospital health and safety policies, clinical governance and other risk management policies., This post will take part in outpatient clinics and routine inpatient care as directed. They will also be responsible for helping run the haematuria clinic, prostate assessment clinics (LATP) and SDEC clinics. Assistance in operating theatres (both inpatient and outpatient) will be programmed into your timetable.

They will undertake a 1:7 on call rota including non-resident out of hours as part of a middle grade urology rota.

The chosen candidate will provide clinical support and set a professional example working alongside other clinical staff. More specifications about main duties will be in shift details received from trust.
