Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine

The post holder will support the Medical Director in providing high-quality palliative care services at the West Midlands Hospice, primarily by providing medical support for a 12-bed in-patient unit and a community team. This role involves participation in training and educational activities as well as activities relating to maintaining clinical excellence within the service.

• Full GMC registration, a licence to practiceand at least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (2 of which must have been in relevant acute specialities/or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies).MB ChB or equivalent
• Postgraduate experience within the NHS
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Communication skills that are sensitive to patients and carers, Completion of Foundation Training or equivalent and at least a further 2 years full-time post-graduate experience in a recognised training programme (or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis). Or a demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable
• Higher Medical Qualification, e.g. MRCP, MRCGP
• Diploma in Palliative Medicine
