Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated SAS Doctor in Haematology to join our established and supportive Haematology team at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group based at Kettering General Hospital This post offers an excellent opportunity to work within a friendly, multidisciplinary service delivering high-quality care to patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of inpatient and outpatient services, with opportunities to develop specialist interests aligned to service needs. The Service Our Haematology service provides comprehensive care across inpatient wards, day units, and outpatient clinics. You will work closely with Haematology consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care. The team has a strong focus on service development, governance, and education.,
- Provide high-quality clinical care to haematology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and day unit activity
- Support the management of acute haematology admissions and advice services
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service improvement
- Participate in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff where appropriate
- Take part in the Haematology on-call rota (depending on experience and service requirements)
We are looking for a doctor who: - Holds full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Has appropriate experience in Haematology at registrar or SAS level
- Is committed to high standards of patient care and safety
- Works well within a multidisciplinary team
- Has good communication and organisational skills
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development
