Full Job Description

This post is suitable for Emergency Medicine Residents who have completed all their CESR rotations for Emergency Medicine and is preparing for submission of their portfolio in line with the CESR criteria for Emergency Medicine and/or worked at the level of a tier 4 for a minimum of 5 years or residents who have demonstrated competencies appropriate at the level of a Tier 4 resident doctor working in the Emergency Department. You will work at Senior Middle Grade level (Tier 4 / ST4 +) whilst undertaking FRCEM examinations and gaining any additional competencies required for entry to the specialist register., You will be on the national contract for SAS and as such you will be required to attend a yearly Job plan meeting with your manager, where your Programmed activities (PA) will be discussed and a joint agreement will be made. As per the contract your PAs will be divided into Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and Supporting Professional Activities (SPA).

You should have the ability to manage adult and paediatric presentations to the Emergency Department. You must have completed MRCEM or equivalent college examinations relevant to emergency medicine. This may include other specialty membership board exams if one can be competencies in EM (Anaesthetics, ITU, AM and Paeds). You should have evidence of the Emergency Medicine portfolio requirements, including the management portfolio and be finalising your portfolio for submission.
