Full Job Description

Applications are invited for a new, part-time (8PA) Specialty Doctor Breast Physician appointment in response to service requirements (applications from candidates looking to work fewer sessions will be considered)., The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals. The post will mainly involve participating in the new patient (1-stop) breast clinic where new referrals with breast concerns are clinically assessed before being sent for relevant imaging on the same say before seen back with results where appropriate. This will involve working closely with colleagues in Breast Radiology. There is scope for the successful applicant to, in addition, develop and area of specialist interest. Such areas include family history / genetics and management of the menopausal side-effects of breast cancer treatment.

The successful applicant will be involved mainly with the new patient 1-stop clinic but will also be encouraged to develop an area of special interest (areas including Family History and Menopausal side-effects of treatment). Previous experience of managing breast disease is not essential as training will be given. There will be opportunities to attend education sessions and multi-disciplinary team meetings. Our close links with the UEA may mean that there are opportunities for research for the appropriate candidate. Higher remuneration will be considered depending on the level of relevant experience.
