Full Job Description
This is a replacement post and we invite applications from enthusiastic anaesthetists to join our friendly and forward thinking team based at Leighton Hospital.
Leighton Hospital is situated on the outskirts of Crewe in Cheshire. This location benefits from a great position in the Cheshire countryside, surrounded by green fields and close to many charming small towns and villages. The Peak District and North Wales are within easy reach, and there are also good transport connections to Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London.
The Trust retained its 'Good' rating by the CQC in April 2020, has a good reputation for research and benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities; these include Critical Care, neonatal intensive care, a suite of state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre. The Trust has invested significantly in recent years in clinical expansion.
A formal job plan review will be undertaken between the appointee and the Clinical Lead, three months after the commencement date of the appointment. This job plan will be agreed by the Associate Medical Director.
The job plan will be reviewed at least annually by the Clinical Lead. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out the Specialty Doctor's duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year. It will cover all aspects of the Specialty Doctor's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities.

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its 'Be Safe Be EquiPPEd' campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.
