Speciality Doctor in Sexual Health

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of health professionals providing high quality sexual and reproductive healthcare across Worcestershire. The post holder will be re based at the Aconbury North, Worcester site, but required to also do some clinics at Kidderminster Sexual Health clinic as part of their weekly role. They may be also required to cover the Arrowside sexual Health clinic at Redditch should the need arise due to absences or other circumstances. to cover other sites if required. Seven sessions/week - minimum 6 sessions per week substantive/permanent post. The post holder will provide medical input to the Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health service. The team is a countywide (Worcestershire) service that aims to provide a level 3 sexual health service The post holder will be expected to have access to a car and hold a driving licence. Post holder will be expected to maintain good communication with wider healthcare professionals in the community e.g GPs, in the spirit of person centred and joined up care, within the bounds of confidentiality within Sexual health. The post holder will be required to maintain a good standard of practice, including the assessments of patients, liaison with other professionals, record keeping, and other associated duties as directed.Main duties of the job To provide clinical services in sexual health, contraception and reproductive healthcare for patients with reference to national guidelines and within limits defined in locally agreed operating procedures To be prepared to provide emergency contraception and counselling and referral of clients requesting abortion. To provide non-judgemental counselling on all sexual health issues and to refer appropriately any service user. To provide counselling on all the available options to women presenting with an unintended/unwanted pregnancy. To work within the legal processes for abortion , in conjunction with the nurse-led early medical abortion service To participate in service quality governance, audit and medical meetings across the county wide Sexual Health Service, as well as undertake departmental audit, as appropriate. To be approachable, non-judgemental and responsive to client needs, irrespective of their age, gender, race, religion or sexuality. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times To have a keen interest and to be responsible for keeping up to date To provide in-clinic teaching, training and supervision of junior doctors, medical students, physician associate students, foundation year pharmacists and nursing students who come to observe in the department, once a sufficient level of experience is reached. Comply with the GMC Duties of a Doctor at all times
