Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapy assistant to join our Cardiorespiratory and Haematology Teams at St George's Hospital. We are looking for a motivated, committed individual who can contribute to our inpatient, post-operative and rehabilitation services and deliver holistic rehabilitation to patients with a variety of cardiorespiratory and /or haematology conditions. Some admin and housekeeping duties are required. The post is rotational, giving the opportunity to work in Cardiothoracics, Haemoncolocy, Medicine and Surgical., Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of the job.

You will work alongside physiotherapists to provide post-op care, rehabilitation and discharge planning for inpatients St George's Hospital. Tasks may include gathering initial information, providing acute rehabilitation, assessing for walking aids, working with a wide range of equipment to promote independence, progressing mobility and making onward referrals to community services.

You will independently carry your own delegated caseload, prioritising appropriately, and feeding back to the physiotherapists. You will provide administrative and clerical support to the team and maintain accurate records (patient records, stock and audit data)

A key part of the role is developing and promoting effective professional working relationships with members of the team and the wider Multidisciplinary Team, as well as motivating and encouraging patients to participate in acute

We seeking a keen, conscientious, reliable team member with the ability to use your initiative and work flexibly. Experience of working within rehabilitation or exercise settings is preferable but not essential; more important is your ability to display empathy and enthusiasm, be able to motivate others and demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills., You will possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a supportive team. You will be organised, motivated and self-directed to enable you to organise your workload and priorities.
