Specialist Teacher of Children and Young people with Vision Impairment, From September 2026 or as soon as possible after that, we require an enthusiastic, dedicated and dynamic Teacher of Children and Young people with Vision Impairment (TVI) who has a passion for improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people who have vision impairment., Stockport Hearing and Vision Specialist Service is fully committed to the safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify.

MPS/UPS plus SEN allowance (min SEN award if not a qualified teacher of children and young people with vision impairment, max SEN award if qualified), We are ideally seeking someone who has already completed their mandatory training as a TVI and has some experience or is currently on the mandatory training course.
We are particularly interested in receiving applications from TVIs who have early years, secondary mainstream and/or post 16 experience, also from those who have experience working with children and young people who have additional complex needs, although this is desirable rather than essential.
The successful applicant would be joining a stable and well-established, warm, friendly and successful team with close support and guidance from both colleagues and the Team Leader who is a qualified and experienced Qualified TVI.

26 hours (4 days) with potential for this to become full time 32.5hrs from May 2027
