Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs.
We are excited to be recruiting a Tuberculosis (TB) Specialist Nurse for North Kent. We are seeking someonewith excellent communication skills, who enjoys the challenge of working with socially and medically complexpatients in a community setting and who is passionate about advocating for our patients. We are lookingforward to welcoming the right candidate to our 'Outstanding' Trust and our friendly and well-establishedteam.
We care for adults, children and babies, through case management, screening clinics, BCG vaccination and health promotion. The post will involve visiting people in their own homes, clinics and some outreach work aswell as phone and virtual appointments.
The role will primarily involve caring for patients in the North Kent, but may involve some wider travel in Kentfor training and meetings. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously without directsupervision.
In return for your hard work we offer you a flexible working environment, personal development and a comprehensive corporate and local induction programme., Specialist TB Nurses play a vital public health role in reducing the onwards transmission of TB throughcontact tracing, identifying close contacts of index cases and offering screening in line with TB guidelines.Their role includes co-ordinating and delivering TB screening clinics, attending incident management meetingsand responding to outbreaks.Specialist TB Nurses provide expert knowledge and skills acting as a resource to advise, educate and supportthe TB multidisciplinary team and raise awareness of TB to the public and other health care professionals.
