Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (secondary schools) - 0.6FTE

If you have specialist knowledge of the range of speech, language and communication needs pupils can experience in secondary school, are confident managing your own caseload, and enjoy collaborative and consultative working, then you are the person we are looking for.

The Merton Speech & Language Therapy Service is part of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Integrated Service (SENDIS) in Merton. This multidisciplinary, much respected and Borough Excellence Award winning team delivers statutory work, EHCP assessment and a unique buy-back service providing therapy, training, support and advice across Merton schools. You will require specialist knowledge of, and experience in applying, good practice models for working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs, including group and individual interventions as well as whole school approaches. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously, manage a defined caseload, and contribute to the supervision and development of newly qualified therapists, assistants and students., We will welcome applications from HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapists with experience of working with children and young people aged 10 years and older.
