Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - School Age Children / EaH

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our established school age team and support with the experts at hand delivery model for children with SEND. You will have clinical skills in supporting the communication needs and development of school aged children., This is a specialist post with clinical responsibility to provide specialist preschool and school-age assessment, treatment and management in conjunction with the Head of Service for Children. This will include planning, coordinating delivering and evaluating the Speech & Language Therapy provided to children and young people (CYP) and their families within Wolverhampton on a day-to-day basis.

The post holder will be a member of the multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will work closely with the Team Leaders to develop and deliver services to children and young people, including as part of the Experts at Hand offer.

The post holder will use the Trust values at all times as a framework for own behaviour and encourage others to do likewise, ensuring the values underpin all that is done.

To provide SLT assessment diagnosis and treatment of Children and Young People (CYP).

To ensure the delivery of highly specialist care to all CYP in Wolverhampton according to clinical priorities and as required by the Head of Service and operational managers.

To provide leadership to the MDT around SLCN in a designated clinical area. The post holder will ensure that the service provided is CYP - centered, effective and of a high quality.

To maintain close working relationships with other health, local authority and education professionals and referrers to ensure efficient, effective and appropriate delivery of the service.

The post holder will not act as a key worker for individuals.
