Full Job Description

Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 or Band 5 progressing to Band 6) - Haringey Learning Disabilities Service

Would you like to be part of a well-established multidisciplinary health and social care team? Are you passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities to live healthier, more independent lives?, In this rewarding post, you will:

Deliver communication and dysphagia interventions to adults with learning disabilities

Receive structured supervision and support to develop skills in managing a complex caseload

Work with individuals with diverse and complex communication and swallowing needs

Provide training and guidance to paid carers, family members, and staff in community, day, and supported living services

You'll be joining a supportive and experienced SLT team, including an SLT Assistant, and contributing to a range of multidisciplinary pathways across Haringey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated therapist looking to develop specialist skills while making a real difference in the community.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
