Full Job Description

As a Specialist Services Operative, you will support essential site operations including waste management, environmental protection and plant activities. This is an opportunity to take ownership of important processes, build specialist knowledge and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement., As a Specialist Services Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of site services. This includes the safe handling, movement and storage of materials, alongside supporting specialist plant systems and operational tasks across the site. You will be trusted to assess risks, follow best practice procedures and ensure all activities are completed in line with environmental and safety standards. Your role will involve working both independently and collaboratively, helping colleagues understand correct processes while maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, a proactive approach and a commitment to safety will help you succeed and grow.,
- Manage the safe collection, movement and storage of materials across site
- Carry out risk assessments before handling any hazardous or sensitive items
- Ensure all materials are correctly labelled, contained and segregated
- Maintain safe and organised storage areas, keeping access controlled
- Monitor site activities and support colleagues with correct procedures
- Complete accurate records, logs and documentation for all operations
- Support environmental protection by preventing spills and uncontrolled discharge
- Carry out routine inspections and report issues, near misses or improvements
- Assist with plant operations, including monitoring and basic maintenance tasks
- Support the movement and handling of specialist equipment or supplies
Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental practices - Ability to assess risk and make safe decisions in practical situations
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks
- Good attention to detail when recording information and following procedures
- Clear communication skills when working with colleagues and stakeholders
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stay organised and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Willingness to follow structured processes and site-specific guidance
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Adaptable approach to support a range of operational activities
