Full Job Description

This role is INTERNAL ONLY and at present we are not accepting external applications. If you are external and apply, your application will not be considered at this time. We are seeking a Specialist Services Operative to be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring and adjustment of key plant assets across the site, ensuring systems run safely, efficiently and in compliance with all applicable standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining business continuity through proactive plant management and effective escalation of alarms and defects., We are looking for an individual who will support the wider site team by completing all assigned CAFM tasks within agreed key performance indicators, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, customer service and professional conduct. The role also involves chemical waste handling and general maintenance activities in a fast-paced facilities environment.,

  • Operate, monitor and adjust key plant assets including air compressors, boilers, vacuum pumps, water systems and air conditioning systems
  • Ensure all critical alarms and defects are identified, escalated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Complete all assigned CAFM planned and reactive work orders within site key point indicators
  • Collect and transport waste chemicals in line with CAFM work order requests
  • Monitor waste storage facilities, ensuring safe segregation, storage and clear identification of all chemical waste areas, skips and containers
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks such as cleaning areas, shifting furniture or equipment, and basic repairs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, reviewing work orders and estimating time and materials required
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations and company policies relating to building operations, health and safety and work practices

    Strong understanding of facilities or building-related environments
  • Strong health and safety awareness; IOSH certification desirable
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment advantageous
  • Chemical handling experience or previous exposure to chemical waste management
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, contractors and vendors
  • Proactive, collaborative and able to take initiative
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Competent in the use of standard powered and non-powered tools
