Full Job Description
Our SENCO leader is Mrs Gemma Martin. Our vision for our pupils is to have no glass ceiling; we are committed to providing all children with a high-quality education. We identify SEND needs early and tailor support to cater for any specific needs. Our aims are: · To help children overcome additional barriers to learning that they may face · To help children develop their thinking skills, so they can learn independently and be an active participant in their learning. · To promote positive well-being through teaching skills in emotional regulation, social interaction and self-care. · To ensure a safe, secure, caring environment. · To develop effective communication and social skills so all children meet their full potential. · To ensure the children feel part of a school community. We already run a successful nurture unit called the Den which supports a variety of children on a daily basis.
Are you ready for your next challenge? If you are a skilled, passionate SEND practitioner we want you! You will be the lead teacher working with a small group of up to 8 children who predominately have an ASD diagnosis. The provision caters for children aged 4-7. You will have experience of working with complex children and have the belief in supporting all children to succeed. You will lead The Haven, alongside our very skilled teaching assistant, with support from our SENCO. The Haven is supported by the Local authority, and we work collaboratively with other local ERP'S. We are a highly inclusive school and have an excellent reputation within our local community. We believe that all children should have a champion and deserve high quality provision. We are well supported by our Trust and have 4 successfully run enhanced resource provisions. Applications are welcomed from both mainstream and special school practitioners. The candidates must:
- Be passionate about supporting children to help remove barriers to learning · Be able to build effective relationships with children, parents and other agencies · Be organised and creative and think outside the box · Have a strong awareness of social and emotional development · Have excellent communication skills
