Full Job Description
To support the head of department and lead respiratory and sleep physiologists in the development and delivery of a high quality Respiratory and sleep service. To carry out the full range of respiratory and sleep investigations and play a key role in the development of specialist diagnostic services. The post holder will be involved in the design and implementation of a training and development programme for junior staff., Act as a Specialist Clinical Physiologist with responsibility for ensuring that patient safety. This includes responsibility for Immediate Life support in the event of an emergency Provide Specialised training and education in respiratory
Analyse data, producing accurate and complex diagnostic reports Maintain clinical competency and ARTP accreditation
Provide direct patient care whilst performing examinations, assessing patients prior to the commencement of any Cardio-Respiratory
Seek medical input when required to and safety escalating concerns regarding clinical risk where appropriate
Ensure that the privacy, dignity and well being of the patient is met and that the patient is fully informed of the procedure to be undertaken
Contribute to a professional multidisciplinary culture, which is open to change
Act as a resource and mentor for team members Be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in line with Trust
Contribute to and maintain effective communication processes with all staff and service users.
Increase awareness of audit, research and clinical governance and facilitate cascade information to all members
Contribute to and support the Acute Business Unit Safety and Quality Standards Framework
Take an active lead in maintaining patient/carer/staff safety and confidentiality by ensuring that appropriate clinical risk assessments and incident
