Full Job Description

Clinical Delivery & Community Service: Autonomously perform high-quality diagnostic examinations across hospital sites (BRI, SLH), CDCs, and as a core practitioner in the mobile Community X-Ray Car Service, delivering imaging to frail and vulnerable patients in care homes and residences.
Radiation Safety (RPS): Act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), ensuring strict compliance with IR(ME)R 2017 and IRR17 regulations, maintaining local rules, and conducting radiation safety risk assessments--particularly in non-standard community environments.
Clinical Governance & Quality Control: Lead and participate in quality assurance (QA) testing, departmental audits, equipment fault reporting, and clinical governance to maintain high technical standards and patient safety.
Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, support, and mentor junior radiographers, assistant practitioners, radiographic assistants, and radiography students, ensuring efficient workflow and safe practice across the department.
Operational Flexibility: Work flexibly across multi-site locations and participate fully in the 24/7 out-of-hours shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and night shifts (covering portables, emergency, theatres, and fluoroscopy).
