Full Job Description

The post holder will work as an experienced Respiratory Physiotherapist within the Community Respiratory Service across North and Mid Powys, providing specialist assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and education to patients with a range of respiratory conditions.

The role will include the delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation through both face-to-face and virtual models, supporting patients to improve exercise capacity, functional ability, symptom management and quality of life. The post holder will also provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy and chest clearance clinics within an outpatient setting, alongside undertaking appropriate community and home visits for patients requiring assessment or intervention in their own environment.

The post holder will undertake comprehensive respiratory assessment and develop individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans, including respiratory physiotherapy techniques, airway clearance, breathing strategies, exercise prescription and self-management support. They will contribute to the assessment and management of patients with complex and long-term respiratory conditions and support admission avoidance and early supported discharge where appropriate.

The post holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide integrated, person-centred care., We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team in PTHB. The Respiratory team provides multidisciplinary management and care for adult patients with a range of respiratory conditions, predominantly COPD, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease and those requiring home oxygen in the home and clinic setting.

The Respiratory Physiotherapist will deliver quality driven, evidence based pulmonary rehabilitation in the community and/or digitally, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with a diagnosed respiratory condition.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload and will be expected to communicate with a wide range of people, including patients and their families, other health care professionals and external agencies, including acute providers out of county and will be involved in developing and maintaining close working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
