Full Job Description
You will manage a varied clinical caseload and work closely with the Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapist and the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. You will provide day-to-day clinical leadership for rehabilitation assistants and support the supervision of students, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills alongside your specialist physiotherapy practice.
- Assess patients' functional ability and rehabilitation needs, including their potential to return to their preferred place of discharge.
- Use excellent clinical reasoning to provide rapid assessment, goal setting and treatment planning for patients with complex medical needs.
- Contribute to proactive discharge planning and patient flow, working effectively with the multidisciplinary team and wider system partners.
- Communicate calmly and assertively, negotiating a way forward in challenging situations and advocating for patient-centred care.
- Work collaboratively to support safe, timely transfers of care; awareness of Greater Manchester Discharge to Assess processes and pathways is desirable. We will support you with a robust induction. You will have access to clinical supervision and a wider staff support network, and you will be involved in the supervision of junior staff and students. You will be expected to participate in a 7-day working service and an on-call respiratory rota.
We are recruiting a dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Medical Therapy Team at Trafford Hospital. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality assessment and rehabilitation for patients on the medical wards. You will have excellent clinical and communication skills, with relevant experience in acute care and a special interest in Medicine for Older People, including supporting people living with cognitive impairment. You will bring advanced assessment skills for frailty syndromes, with a minimum of 18 months' relevant experience.
