With five world-renowned hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust offers exceptional opportunities for Occupational Therapists looking to broaden their clinical expertise, develop specialist skills, lead quality improvement initiatives, and work alongside expert multidisciplinary teams. We are recruiting a dynamic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Trust-wide specialist neuro rotation. This permanent rotation offers experience across Stroke, Neurosciences, Major Trauma, and both inpatient and community Neurorehabilitation services, providing a unique opportunity to develop specialist neurological rehabilitation skills across a diverse range of clinical settings. Occupational Therapists are integral members of our multidisciplinary teams, playing a vital role in supporting patients with complex neurological conditions to achieve their rehabilitation goals. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention for patients with a wide range of neurological presentations.,
- To provide high-quality Occupational Therapy to patients at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
- To participate in a cross-site rotational scheme, delivering a high standard of care to patients within the neurosciences rotations. This involves performing comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, cognitive, and psychological conditions to develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
- To manage a significant, complex clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner at a specialist level alongside multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues.
- To lead on complex discharge planning for neurological patients, collaborating closely with community teams, external agencies, and social care.
- To support service development within the team, actively contributing to the implementation of policy and service changes within the clinical area in partnership with the MDT.
- To participate in clinical audit, research, and service evaluation to ensure the service remains evidence-based.
- To act as a positive and inspirational role model for all team members, which includes supervising Band 3, 4, and 5 staff, as well as participating in the student "fair share" model for practice placements.
- To demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical governance by actively managing risk, maintaining high standards of documentation, and ensuring safe practice in line with RCOT and Trust policies.
