  • Promoting safe sexual practices and preventative health strategies
  • Contributing to health education sessions and outreach initiatives, The post holder will assess, plan and deliver all aspects of sexual health care and will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake duties concurrent with this level of seniority from the list below in line with Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and NICE guidance:
  • - promotion/issuing of all methods of contraception (for example the fitting of long acting reversible contraception (IUD/S and SDI) - screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) - perform diagnostic procedures and provide treatment and management of STIs - Health Advising/Partner Notification and Result Management - cervical cytology - microscopy - cryotherapy Agreement in relation to which requirements apply will be reached individually. Responsible for the identification and management of sexual partners who may have been exposed to an STI(s) in order to prevent onward transmission. This is achieved by either taking direct action or via partnership working with others to facilitate effective partner notification in a range of settings using referral care pathways. · Lead on the partner notification for newly diagnosed HIV positive patients who present though ISHS and where appropriate Support the HIV specialist nurses in elements of their patients care and ongoing partner notification. · Work alongside and support the results management and partner notification co-ordinators to manage the results notification process (specifically BBI) · The post holder will have an understanding of safeguarding and the complexities surrounding patients with these additional needs - including Young People, Sexual assault victims, Domestic abuse victims, Children at risk of exploitation The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day aspects of supervision and training of the nursing team (band 5/HCA).
