The Colorectal Nursing Service has a Band 6/7 12 month secondment opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to join our friendly, supportive well-established team of Clinical Nurse Specialists at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role is 4 days/30 hours per week and based mainly at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals., As a Band 6/7 Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert nursing care and act as the key worker for patients throughout the colorectal cancer pathway. You will coordinate care, deliver specialist assessment and symptom management, contribute to MDT decision-making and support delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with national cancer standards, promoting care closer to home and service improvement.,

  • Act as key worker for colorectal cancer patients
  • Provide specialist assessment and symptom management
  • Coordinate cancer pathways and MDT input
  • Deliver expert patient and carer support
  • Work across teams to deliver timely care closer to home

    Nursing registration
  • Clinical experience within speciality Evidence of management ability and leadership skills Evidence of previous study at Level 6/7, relating to this speciality Computer literate/experience of working with Microsoft Office packages Desirable criteria Evidence of delivering educational teaching Ability to undertake clinical audits/service evaluations Advanced communication skills,
  • Adult Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience in cancer care
  • Evidence of management ability and leadership skills
  • Evidence of previous study at Level 6/7, relating to this speciality
  • Computer literate/experience of working with Microsoft Office packages

  • Ability to undertake clinical audits/service evaluations, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
