Job summary
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for the position of a Specialist Nurse/ Non-Medical Prescriber, within the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service (NRGDS)
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to utilise their clinical skills within a supportive and dedicated team.
Whilst any experience is valued we recognise that applicants may not have experience of working directly in the gender dysphoria pathway and training is provided by the team. We actively support applicants to apply for these posts who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or have lived experience of neurodivergence.
Main duties of the job
This is a complex ever evolving field in which to work and applicants must be able to appreciate, think flexibly about and debate abstract concepts, such as gender identity, sexuality, law, language and societal influences.
As a qualified NMP you will assess gender dysphoria, offer medication reviews and support service users over the course of their time on the gender dysphoria pathway. This is a key time in some people's lives and an opportunity for professionals to support people over a period of several years.
About us
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
NHS Employees identified as at risk of compulsory redundancy and those eligible for the NENC Re-Deployment careers hub will receive prior consideration.
