This role provides an exciting opportunity to support students and play an important role in the delivery of Royal Holloway's wellbeing and experience offering. There are no guaranteed hours for the post as it based on Disabled Students Allowance demand but we would be typically looking for candidates to work 1-2 days per week on campus.
The Directorate of Student Life includes a broad range of student facing teams who are core to the student journey:
# Active Lifestyle & Sport

Reporting to the Disability Adviser (Specialist Mentors) they will contribute to the work of the Directorate and support the strategy and aims of the University and Student Journey Division. Role holders will be expected to demonstrate our University values - being Daring, Innovative, Open and Respectful - in their work and be a champion of equality, diversity and inclusion.
As a specialist tutor you will provide one to one assistance to students with mental health conditions and/or autistic spectrum conditions who have Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) funding. You will assist students in developing strategies to overcome any barriers to their learning. The post holder will be required to meet the DSA mandatory qualifications for this role which are detailed in the job description. As per current DSA guidance, students are offered the option of online (MS Teams) or face to face support.
With advice from the Disability & Neurodiversity team, the Specialist Mentor will help these students manage the effect of their disability issues on their studies and on their experience as Royal Holloway students. With roles in Student Life there is a need for some campus-based working to enable in-person student appointments (based on student preference and need) but there will be some opportunity for working remotely each week.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
# Generous annual leave entitlement
# Training and Development opportunities
# Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
