Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Learning Support Assistants to collaborate closely with teachers in planning and delivering high-quality programmes of teaching and learning. Under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, you will undertake educational activities with individuals, groups, or whole classes. Key duties include:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver specified learning activities to individuals, groups, and whole classes.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to assess pupil needs and assist in the preparation, development, and implementation of Individual Development Plans.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with learning, behavioral, communication, social, sensory, or physical difficulties.
  • Partner with teachers, external education/health specialists, and outside agencies to develop multi-agency approaches.

    Working at or towards the competency standards for Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
  • Learning Support Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • Awareness of policy, procedures, and legislation relating to child protection, health and safety, and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Ability to empathise with the needs of children and in particular able to establish positive relationships with pupils.
  • Ability to consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
