Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and highly motivated individual to join a cohesive team of Orthopaedic Surgeons at Kettering General Hospital (KGH). The new appointee will join the Orthopaedic team and will contribute to the delivery of trauma and elective surgery., The appointee will be responsible for surgical management of all trauma patients. The lead for the trauma theatre is on a rota basis 7 days a week with the 3 other associate specialists. The appointee will independently perform trauma surgery. The appointee will have the opportunity to hold routine elective outpatient clinics and maintain an elective outpatient waiting list. The appointee will take part in the administrative work relevant to their clinical commitment, and to contribute as appropriate to the work of the Directorate. The appointees will also be expected to take an active part in Audit and Clinical Governance. Participation in Clinical research will be encouraged Participation in Trust Mandatory Training, job planning and annual appraisal is also a requirement. The Medical Director is the appointed Responsible Officer for revalidation purposes. There is a Trust appointed Revalidation Lead in place to support doctors through the process.

The successful candidate should have extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery and at least 5 years' experience at Registrar level in the UK NHS.
