Full Job Description

We're seeking dedicated clinicians with a passion for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care.

  • Do you specialise in the management of minor injury and/or minor illness?, Our Minor Injury Units across Oxfordshire care for approximately 5,000 patients each month, delivering high-quality specialist care closer to home and reducing the need for patients to attend acute hospital settings.
  • As a Specialist Emergency Practitioner, you will be a registered nurse or paramedic with advanced clinical skills and the confidence to assess, diagnose and treat patients autonomously within our Minor Injury Units. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, excellent decision-making skills and a compassionate, patient-centred approach to care. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team where collaboration, shared learning and high-quality care are central to everyday practice. This role offers the opportunity to broaden your clinical experience, develop your skills across minor injury and illness pathways, and contribute to the GP Out of Hours environment. We are committed to supporting your ongoing professional development through a structured programme of training and education. This may include opportunities such as non-medical prescribing and Level 7 leadership development, supported by a tailored development plan and a competency-based portfolio of practice. The role involves working across a shift pattern that includes weekends, bank holidays and nights. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time permanent positions.

  • Do you hold Level 7 minor injury and/or illness qualifications with proven experience at Band 6/7 within an Urgent Treatment Centre, MIU, or Emergency Department?
  • Are you eager to further develop your leadership within the advanced practice environment?
  • If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Join us and take the next step in your urgent care career. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

At Oxford Health we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing. These include:
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression
  • Access to tailored individual and Trust wide learning and development
  • 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service
